Our work is designed to enable you to feel at ease when you think about your finances. We will walk beside you on your financial journey as you approach and move through retirement, so you can rest assured that your best interests are being well cared for.

Our investment philosophy is evidence based, so you can feel confident that your unique portfolio is being monitored with a level of wealth management that is disciplined and sophisticated.

We keep you apprised of important financial news, manage your investments, and help manage the long term effect of taxes on your retirement. We stay current on the latest laws, investment trends, healthcare, estate planning and retirement topics so you don’t have to.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WOULD BE A GOOD FIT FOR FIRESIDE?
We believe that good financial planning needs to be built on the foundation of a good relationship. We need to get to know you and your unique needs so that we can do our best work, and help ignite your financial well-being.

It’s important that you are also able to get to know us, and determine our compatibility from the outset. We strive to be fully transparent with you about our approach.

You would be a good fit for Fireside Financial if:

  • You’re looking to build a long-term relationship with your financial team, serving as a partnership to help you make sense of your financial affairs, and to help you build a successful and secure retirement.
  • You’re not looking to time the market. We follow an evidence-based and disciplined investment process so you don’t make costly mistakes.
  • You’re happy to meet in person at least twice a year so we can keep each other up to date. We also host a great firepit BBQ you won’t want to miss!
  • You value professional advice, and recognize that value comes at a cost.

IS THERE A FEE FOR AN INITIAL MEETING WITH YOU?
We know that sometimes the hardest thing about getting financial help is having that first conversion. We want to make it as easy for you to meet with us as possible, and as such, our initial meetings are complimentary.

During this first meeting our goal is to learn what led you to get in touch, and what financial issues are on your mind that led you to us. We want to hear about you and your family and your priorities, and determine if we might be a good fit for a long-term relationship.

We will take time to ensure you understand and are comfortable with our fees. This is why we won’t ask you to become part of Fireside Financial or pay anything until after the third meeting.

We know we might not be right for everyone with respect to an ongoing advisory relationship, and that’s fine with us. There is no obligation, and no hard feelings if you feel we’re not the right fit for your needs at this time.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
We want to make sure our fees are transparent and easy to understand. Our fees are for financial advice, and investment advice. There is an occasional commission charged on some investment products but we work to keep these to a minimum.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH A SMALL FIRM?
As an independent financial planning practice we are able to focus on the people we serve, rather than the sales targets of corporate management. We are a small firm by choice. We want to remain free to remain a small client centric firm where your interests are always put before ours. Your life savings shouldn’t be someone’s quarterly sales goal, and we will never treat you as such.

WHY SHOULD I PAY A FINANCIAL ADVISOR TO DO THIS FOR ME?
You only get to retire once, so it’s important you do it right. We use a modern approach based on research and experience to help you successfully navigate the challenges of retirement. A competent financial advisor has years of experience guiding people like you to retirement and beyond. We’re here to walk beside you as you work towards and then achieve your goals, with many celebratory high-fives along the way.

HOW OFTEN WILL I HEAR FROM YOU?
In a typical year we will schedule two in-person meetings. In addition to this we offer other meetings based on specific topics such as Medicare or taxes. We will also contact people as needed based on current financial events.

If you have specific issues you’d like to address that require further meetings, we will always make more time for you.
