BECOMING A CLIENT

If you are currently approaching or enjoying retirement, then we invite you to utilize our complimentary ‘Come Sit Fireside’ process. We’ll use this process to learn about you and your unique financial story, and talk through important retirement concerns we all share.

Will you have enough money to last throughout your retirement?
Is your portfolio suitably aligned with your current chapter of life?
How does healthcare work as you approach or enter retirement?
Are you making the most of any possible tax breaks?
Will your loved ones be well taken care of?

Let’s find out…

We will also take time to ensure you understand and are comfortable with our fees. There is no cost or obligation for this process. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to begin the financial planning process and find a professional team who are right for you.

We know we might not be right for everyone with respect to an ongoing advisory relationship, and that’s fine with us. That’s why we won’t ask you to become part of Fireside Financial or pay a dime until the 4th meeting.

There is no obligation, and no hard feelings if you feel we’re not the right fit for your needs. If we aren’t a good match for each other we will work to help introduce you to a firm better suited to your needs.

Step 1: Introductory Phone Call

The first step in our process is a 15-minute phone call to help us build a general overview of where you’re at, discuss what’s on your mind, and also share a little more about us and our approach. This gives us both a chance to make sure your unique financial situation is a good fit for our expertise.

Step 2: First In-Person Meeting

If we’ve both decided we’re a good fit after our intro call, then we’ll schedule our first in-person meeting at Fireside HQ. We’ll ask you to bring along some financial documents to help us get a clearer picture of your current financial situation.

We’ll throw a couple of logs on the proverbial fire, fill our coffee cups and dig into the questions that brought you to us in the first place. The goal of this meeting is to get perfectly clear on your goals, concerns and unique financial situation.

Step 3: Observations and Analysis

This is where things really start to come together. We will deliver our basic recommendations so you can understand the type of advice we’ll deliver, and form a solid awareness of how we will work together.

You’ll then be able to take as much time as you need to decide whether or not you’d like to proceed with working together. There is no pressure or obligation, and we’re in no rush for you to reach a decision. We’ve been doing this for over two decades, and if there’s anything we’ve learned in that time, it’s that big decisions can’t be rushed.

We always love a good old pros and cons list. Ask yourself, do you feel you would enjoy working with us here at Fireside? Do you like and respect us? Do you understand our fees, and value our professional advice? Do you recognize that value comes at a cost? Do you understand our approach, and how our advice will be applied to your unique situation?

If you can answer yes to all of these key questions, then step 4 will be the next step on our journey together.

Step 4: Second In-Person Meeting

This is when we begin to implement and process your client agreement. We will cover all of the steps required to open your accounts, transfer your assets, review any pending action items, provide your online account access, and reaffirm what you can expect from your partnership with Fireside.

After completing the onboarding process we’ll begin our regular review process. Typically we will meet twice a year to discuss any pressing concerns. At that time we will also review your investment and economic situation, and focus on one timely financial planning topic.

In addition to this, we will help monitor your tax efficiency or healthcare on a regular basis. We are also always available to meet should any unexpected issues arise that require more urgent attention.

If this sounds like the kind of financial partnership you’re looking for, we’d love to talk. Come sit fireside with us, and let’s ignite your financial well-being.
