DAVID PAGELS
FOUNDER + FINANCIAL ADVISOR
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a family member they trust in the financial industry. I founded Fireside Financial Partners because I believe we all deserve to be on a first name basis with our financial team. When you have this kind of partnership you can trust that your finances are being looked after, while you stay busy living your best life.
I love meeting people, asking questions and learning from their experiences. I know there are people who need financial advice and don’t find the partner they deserve. Often the hardest part is just opening the door to an unfamiliar office or calling a stranger you’ve never met.
I want to create a better experience. Fireside should be a place that is warm and inviting. A place where we can all come together and enjoy collaborating to ignite your financial confidence.
I understand the level of commitment and purpose it takes to prepare for retirement. I have great respect for those working to achieve that goal.
My work is about so much more than just money. To truly help people, I need to understand the wholeness of their situation, and the journey they have taken thus far. Once I have gotten to know the breadth of a person’s story, it’s then I can really help them ignite their financial confidence.
I feel incredibly lucky to come to work every day and help people live life safely in the knowledge that their future is provided for.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. I started my career back in 1999. I was 23 when my wife Julie and I moved to Ashland and started on our adventure. I was right out of college and was fortunate to get a job with a Fortune 500 company that taught me to always put people first.
My father was a financial advisor, and I was lucky to learn the business from him. The first lessons he taught me were, always treat people like you would treat your own family, always say please and thank you, and always do what you say you are going to do. These are the core principles that led to Fireside Financial Partners. That’s the foundation my business is built on.
Julie and I met in college writing class when we were 19. We were married four years later in the summer of 1999. Julie is the love of my life and inspires me to become a better person every day. Julie is a horse trainer and works for the US Forest Service. We live at Full Sail Farm, our horse farm on a little lake in the Penokee hills about 20 miles south of Ashland. We have four horses and a dog, Heda May. We love to spoil them all.
I spend a lot of time in the woods hiking, foraging, and mushroom hunting. I am obsessed with muskie fishing in summer and fall. I love downhill and cross-country skiing. In the winter I like to snowshoe in the woods. When spring comes, I enjoy making my own maple syrup. I also enjoy gardening and especially keeping a little vegetable garden.
Most of all I love entertaining friends. In the summer we take anybody who will join us for pontoon rides on the lake. I love to cook, whether just for my wife or to entertain a few friends. I enjoy planning cooking for large parties or my friends on fishing trips.
I am grateful to be able to say that I really am living my best life. And I want that same sense of fulfillment for everyone. This is what motivated me in the first place to start Fireside Financial, and continues to drive me every day to help you ignite your financial confidence.
